A sediment filter does not remove dissolved hardness or establish that water is microbiologically safe. Dissolved iron, manganese or other substances can need a different treatment process.

A smaller micron rating is not automatically the best choice. We consider what needs to be captured, pressure loss and the household's flow requirements.

Does a dual housing mean two sediment filters?
Not necessarily. We specify what goes in each housing. A second stage might have a different job, and its performance depends on the actual cartridge.
Will this remove dissolved iron?
A basic sediment cartridge catches particles. Dissolved iron can require oxidation and a suitable iron-treatment system.
Does the finest cartridge give the best result?
It can add pressure loss or need more frequent changes. The rating should suit both the particle concern and the required water flow.
How often will I change it?
That depends on the cartridge, the amount of material in the water and water use. We establish a starting service plan and adjust it to performance.
