    Water brings dissolved calcium and magnesium into the resin bed.

Factory capacity uses a salt dose of 6 lb per cubic foot of resin. Capacity changes with salt dose. Flow ratings apply at the conditions shown; plumbing, installation and service clearances affect the final layout. US gallons are used throughout.

Regeneration cleans and restores the resin. The gallon figures are per cleaning cycle, not daily consumption. How often a system regenerates depends on hardness, household use and settings. Backwash flow, in US gallons per minute, is the supply and drain capacity needed during that stage; it is not the total water used. We review the cycle settings and installation requirements for your home.

Does a larger grain number always mean a better softener?

The useful capacity depends on the salt setting and your water. We match capacity and flow to the household rather than choosing by the largest advertised number.

Can you fit a softener in a mobile home?

Often the installation needs a different layout. We inspect the available space, plumbing, drain and access, then recommend a practical arrangement.

Will a softener lower TDS?

Softening exchanges hardness minerals for other ions; it is not a general TDS-reduction process. Reverse osmosis is a separate option for drinking water.

Can it treat well water?

Yes, when the water conditions suit the selected equipment. Iron, manganese, sediment and other findings can change the pretreatment and maintenance needed.
