An oxidation-and-filtration sequence makes dissolved iron—and, under suitable conditions, manganese—easier to capture.
Air or another suitable oxidant helps convert dissolved metals into particles.
The filter media retains those particles as water passes through.
A separate cleaning cycle lifts and flushes accumulated material to the drain.
The media, oxidant, pH and available backwash flow must suit the water. This is a process illustration, not a universal removal claim.

Similar-looking stains can have different causes. The water results determine the treatment media and operating requirements.

Use a manganese-capable configuration when the water results call for it.
Investigate sulphur odour and choose suitable treatment for its source and measured concentration.
IronShield is selected for specific water conditions. It does not replace softening for hardness or a disinfection step where one is required.
How we approach it
Air-oxidation configurations introduce air before the water passes through treatment media. Backwashing refreshes the bed and carries away collected material.

These are selection limits for the corresponding air-oxidation configurations, not guaranteed combined removal levels. Performance depends on the complete water chemistry. Peak flow is intermittent. We confirm the exact media, settings and pump capacity for each installation.

Backwashing cleans the media bed. These figures are the flow needed during backwashing, in US gallons per minute, not the total water used per cycle or per day. We check the available supply flow, drain capacity and cycle settings before installation.

No. Manganese needs an appropriate configuration and water conditions. We select the media using the measured manganese and pH results.
Yes. When the water calls for both, we plan a treatment sequence that addresses iron or manganese as well as hardness.
The filter needs enough flow during backwashing to clean its media properly. A household flow estimate alone does not establish that the pump can supply it.
No. The source of the odour and the measured water conditions matter. We investigate before recommending equipment.
